Ok I have had this thing a week now and am so far very happy with it.

It started up out of the box on batteries alone(60%charge remaining)
so the battery keeps a decant charge for a long period of time when
not in use.

The 12. SVGA(24bit) tft screen was the better of the screens that
were on display in Circuit City. It does have one dead pixel that is
really not noticeable. Mine was the last one there so if they get more
in in the next two weeks I'll return it for a new one because of this.
If they don't I'll just keep it. Dead pixels come with the territory
with TFT. This screen was by for the best one at Circuit City. It even
looked better than the Thinkpad and the Sony 719c on display.

The specs are 233mmx(Tillamook), 2gig hd, 56k modem and 32meg with
256k L2 cache. This is upgradable to 128meg and whatever hd will
fit(user definable) For only having 256k cache is feels pretty
speedy(my last notebook was a P100). The video is NeoMagic128xd.
Supposedly it has 3d and mpg acceleration.

The included 3d game plays beautifully and avi's and mpg's play
fullscreen with no problems at all.

The software package is decent for the beginner or the basic road
warrior. It comes with Works and Word97 so the basic office and school
chores are very accomplishable. It also comes with quicken basic,
Encarta 98, MGI photosuite, RealPlayer5, Iris antivirus, and the MS
Entertainment pack.

The drawback is only a one year warranty.

Over all this is a very nice package to buy retail and not mail order.
($1599 at circuit city, $1499 at Cyberian Outpost, and $1799 at
Microwarehouse) Circuit City has price protection so I'll get back
$100 but that doesn't help with state taxes.
